What if they made houses like this? Then if a tornado came you could take your home underground. You would be safe from the tornado and safe from the whole house cave in thing.

Homes would also be more difficult to break into if you brought your home down at night.

There would of course need to be some alternate way out. You know… in case of power outs.

or fires.

The best I can think of as far as fires go while underground is finding someway to suck the air out of the house once everyone is out.

I don’t think this would protect against floods though
